I purchased this 38MM Swarovski crystal ($2.99) along with a 38MM generic brand ($.75)38mm Crystal Icicle U-Drop Prisms #401-38 to see what the difference was. If you inspect them very closely and carefully you can see that the Swarovski is a little better quality. (It has smoother points at each end and tapers ever so slightly more.) But the crystals both look very pretty and make the same amount of rainbows on my walls. The Swarovski crystal does have the tiny little etched signature mark inside it (at the top by the hole) but you might want to consider the cheaper one. When I reorder, I will be purchasing the cheaper ones because they save so much money and are practically identical to these.

Very pretty, but it rarely displays color when the sun hits it. There was also a minor flaw in mine when I received it.

These icicles are lovely and delicate. I plan to put some clear thread through the holes and use them as ornaments. They will also make nice suncatchers. What a deal for Swarovski!
