One of the best overviews of the Zodiac murders Apr 24, 2009 This is a well-produced and factual overview of the infamous Zodiac murders case that took place during the late 60s and early 70s in the San Francisco Bay area of California.
This documentary combines recreations of the actual murders (very well done and not overly-sensationalized), along with relevant commentary from police officials, investigators and researchers.
The presentation sticks to the case's basic facts and paints a picture of an exceptionally cold-hearted killer whose propensity for violence was surpassed only by his incredible ability to play the media and to constantly adapt and evolve, a tactic that allowed him to stay several steps ahead of the police at all times.
Included are examples of the correspondence that the Zodiac killer sent to San Francisco Bay area newspapers and a discussion of how one of the killer's many cryptograms was finally deciphered.
Also included is a full discussion of what is known among researchers as "The Radian Theory," a discovery that is perhaps one of the most intriguing aspects of the entire case (and one which may explain the killer's bizarre motives for the crimes).
Highly recommended to anyone who has an interest in true crime and other sorts of unsolved mysteries.

I Feel sorry.. Feb 16, 2007 for Mr. Arthur Leigh Allen and the Conclusion Mr. Graysmith came to in his book "Zodiac Unmasked." Poor Mr. Allen thought of as a loser when he only has two bachelor's degrees and was in the navy, because he lives with his mother. Several people described in this film make excellent killers as their proximity to murders is striking and their names can be spelled out in cryptograms and they have the abiliTy to do this.My relation is distant and not by blood to Darlene Ferrin, one of the victims and I give a shout out to Ms. Pam Suennen her sister(Jake Gyllenhal's cute!) whom I've never met bUt who Had an intErest in meeting me.Thanks Mr. wark.

ALMOST PERFECT Mar 29, 2001 This is an excellent tape for the Zodiac buff and novice alike. Using several different techniques to tell the tale, this 47 minute video does a great job of getting the story across. Having said that, why then do I only give it 4 stars? For the annoying "host", Lawrence Block. What? Was Carl from Sling Blade busy that day and unavailble for taping. If he could only be edited out, this would be a definite 5 star video on the Zodiac. As it is, this and the Limbic Region (a movie) are the only 2 available videos on the subject at this time.

Superb, especially in comparison with Graysmith's book Dec 04, 2000 An excellent overview of the case, free of all those notorious errors, misinterpretation and fact-bending that makes Graysmith's book on the subject so bad. Highly recommended, and probably the best introduction to the case anyone could hope for. One of numerous reasons why it's so good is the fact that it concentrates on the best suspect ever named, L.K., rather than the obviously innocent but highly publicised (only because of Robert Graysmith's naming him) A.L.A.

Zodiac Video very informative. Feb 01, 2000 The zodiac case reopened, is a very well done documentry, although Lawrence Block, should hire someone else to do the tags to each segement, his bland non emotional comments leave you saying, get this guy out of here and let's get back to the program. Being a child during the time Zodiac was at the height of his reign of terror, I can remember the school taking extra percautions with all of us, I remember them talking about it in a very sensored fashioned, only telling us go straight home and do not talk to strangers etc. This video left me wanting more. I have read Robert Graysmith's chilling book and wished that the video could have delivered more on that level, however I enjoyed the old film footage and was impressed with how each of the re-enactments were staged. I was surprised how one segemnt was left out, where Zodiac took a young mother and her child on a ride, where she was taunted and told she would be killed, luckily she escaped! All in all, a beginner on the case will definatley catch the Zodiac bug from seeing this video.
