 BEAUTY & the BEAST - amazing cards! Nov 11, 2009
the cards have beautiful animal images painted in a First Nations 'style' & the art work is very high quality.
For myself, they have so far proven very accurate, and better than my Tarot readings.
The book is good and it is a decent quality hardcover.
I think the information is adequate, I'm reading other books on animals to add knowledge to this method of divining.
Beautiful illustrations throughout.
A very introspective, healing, and enlightening tarot.
The backs of the cards are beyond belief in my opinion. :+{)! gads!
Just plain butt ugly!
Golly! I wouldn't have any real clue what possessed Jamie Sams to come up with that.
It's really meaningless.. they look like cards from a kids game, or out of a Captain Marvel comic.
Very 'off-putting' for me and I felt more and more uncomfortable using the cards.
I recently painted the thunderbolt uglys with black lacquer -- the backs of all the cards are a nice glossy black now... look fantastic in the spread - "professional". :+]
...with the new black backs, the cards now seem as they should be.
My other negative would be the manner in which the deck has been designed, and the high-powered marketing, centered around greed and financial power
- all about making money.
All in all though, the cards are valid, they have survived the test of their integrity. They simply read very well,
Period.
- very, very accurate so far.
If you feel a kinship with animals, or prefer the natural way of learning from them, or enjoy the symbols, if the cards draw you to them, by all means buy the cards, and the book, and, a spray-can of black lacquer.

I was gifted a set 18 years ago and gifted them in turn to my Heart's Sister,
getting this expanded(5 more Animals-including Raccoon) set for myself.
I really Love these cards...and highly recommend them.

I bought Medicine cards on Amazon by Amazon(no other users) and
I was not sure (for some reviews) if it's gonna be
the full package (CARDS AND BOOKMedicine Cards: The Discovery of Power Through the Ways of Animals), fortunately
it was!! It cost me 12$ less than ordered by Barnes
and noble.

I bought the medicine cards as a gift for someone who does tarot reading. He enjoyed them immensely, he is also native american so it "spoke" to him. Animal totems are very important and it was nice to have something broken down into easy sections.
