 Very accurate Oct 16, 2009
The book is very helpful in explaining the different personalities so you not only better understand yourself but the other signs and why they are the way they are. Knowing that just makes it easier to accept(or not) yourself as well as the others so you don't take things so personally. Which is huge!! It's a great source of reference.
 Not your traditional astrology book! Sep 15, 2009
One of my friends (we're both the same sign only male and female) turned me onto this book, so I had to get my own copy! I love this book. Its worth reading even if you're not into astrology. Once I started reading it I didn't put it down! Its a fun read and not your traditional astrology book!

My boyfriend and some of his friends speak very highly of this book. Unlike me, they know a lot about astrology, whereas, I have always sort of held up that one quizical I brow to silently say "that doesn't sound too convincing." My opinion of this book is focused more on the information provided, as well as, the effort made by the author to include passive astrological tourists.
There is a lot more to write about the details of this book but because I'm writing this review to pass the time until my laundry is done, I'm hitting the fast track.
Starsky + Cox have included a lot more information in this book than simple sexual compatibility and tendencies. They have included sections on the mind body soul and sexuality of men and women based on their western sign, and although there isn't much time put into advising on which signs you are suited best for there is a great deal of effort put into describing each signs individual factors in each category.
Where my problem emerges is in the difficulty I had deciphering the details for each sign. I happened to come into this book based on my boyfriends belief in the validity of Astrology (which I am open to) but after reading through this book it was clear that it wasn't meant for astrological novices, so I was and am forced to go through my BF as a sort of interpreter while I learn. What this has increased in me though is the skepticism I have for this science (I don't know if it is self described as a science mind you).
In short (not that it was very long), there is a lot of information contained within the cover of this Sex Tome and there are many parts that are fascinating and fun, but there is much more that (for novices) feels murky and unclear. I didn't exactly enjoy the book but I believe that those of you with a deeper understanding to begin with will find a lot of value in Sextrology.

i eventually purchased this book after i found myself peeking inside one too many times at barnes & noble. it has been over three years and i still find myself reading and rereading.
most importantly, as i tell my friends, it is my go-to guide for every new boyfriend, lover, or fling.
it saves me headaches and hours of waiting by the phone (metaphorically) as i no longer need to ask 'what the hell was he thinking?'
lastly, you have to take the contents with a grain of salt. the authors are a bit harsher on some signs than others. likewise, the male analyses go into much more explicit detail than the female.
however, i have to admit that this book is about 90% accurate and precise (pretty amazing for astrology).
in the end, i've lent it to over a dozen of individuals (m + f), all who have gone out to purchase their own copy. definitely worth it.

If you have some interest in this sort of stuff, it is a very fun read.
