Very accurate Nov 21, 2009 I have three of these birthday type books. This one appears to be the most accurate. I have found two people in the many that have looked at this book who say it doesn't describe them. Is the book wrong or perhaps are those individuals less aware of aspects of themselves (or undeveloped aspects)? I don't know. We are all shaped by our environment (nurture), but I do believe this book can describe one's basic "nature".
LOVE this book...right on the money! Nov 14, 2009 Like it or not, this book is RIGHT on 90% of the time. It says all the things about you that you know are true...good and bad! I agree with the other reviewers that it provides hours of endless entertainment as you look up birthday after birthday of everyone you know (significant others, exes, friends, family, etc.) Also, a tip for those who haven't found their profile or someone else's to be completely accurate - look at the day before or the day after. Often times it will be right on...especially if you were born late on night or early on morning on the "cusp" of the date. No matter what, this book is worth it for all the fun and conversation it provides...perfect on the coffee table!
An outstanding work of Astrological understanding Sep 13, 2009 I've always taken a scientific, or rather, realistic approach toward mythology, astrology and ancient religious beliefs in "the Gods", whatever people may conceive Him or Them to be. With that said, it is important to understand that I respect all beliefs as they are valued by other intelligent people and, most importantly, I am a history nut! Yes I, too, steal a quick glance at my horoscope from time to time. At best, I think; "maybe those numbers will win the lottery for me". However, I have often been impressed by accuracies of astrological personality stereotypes. "Oh, he/she's DEFINATELY a Scorpio, Aries, Taurus, etc..." Anything beyond that, I've never really taken too seriously. I do not believe in destiny. The stars do not affect my life, I do, thank you very much.
What I was unaware of was the relationships between ancient planetary folklore (Men are from Mars, women are from Venus type of thing), planetary alignments and subsequent associations with the specific day of birth with respect to human beings and how one's personality may be affected by a season or a day of the year. It just seemed a bit too far out to me. Then again, the pyramids were erected by the very same people who believed, studied and interpreted these beliefs. Additionally, the pyramids are mathematically perfect. Thus, I keep open mind.
While sitting at a private coffee shop along a quiet street in Pacific Beach, CA I pulled a thick dusty book; "The Secret Language of Birthdays" down from a shelf and started reading about myself... My mouth dropped! I read and read and read... It was the first time I've ever had my particular "sign" (Taurus) explained so provocatively. Now, I consider myself a pretty intelligent man. But I STILL don't understand the planet thing, and yet, was dumbfounded at how these Authors were able to express, so creatively, each and every connection to our astrological personalities. The accuracies were humbling. They covered everything from our emotional triggers, to our system of belief, sexuality, diets, health, our ability for self expression,,, they go on and on - pretty accurately!
My Mother past recently, and since my loss, I've enjoyed celebrating her memory and who she was. When I turned to her pages and read,,, I almost started tearing up. My Mother was not a Gemini... In this book, Gemini was my Mother! I just had to have this book close to my coffee table. This book was, quite simply, a really good time.
Clearly, the authors are very well educated in Psychology and Personology disciplines. That, with their knowledge of Astrology makes them very effective in offering a comprehensive understanding of the relationship of personal character and astrological personality consistencies. A wonderfully entertaining read and certainly worth buying!

Accurate? - Maybe. For me - Not even close. Sep 02, 2009 *sigh* Where do I begin? Yes I know this book is for entertainment purposes only, however I was a little disturbed to find that my birthday was completely inaccurate. Given that my birthday is Nov. 25th I immediately looked to the side (before I read) to find that Tina Turner shares my birthday...except this is FALSE! Her birthday is Nov. 26th. Needless to say I continued to read, only to find that the description of my birthday completely fits Tina (coincidentally) but she wasn't even born on that day. It would have been nice to see what someone else thought to be were my true birthday characteristics, as oppose to something fabricated around a person whose b/day is actually the next day. Putting that aside I read on of my friend's/family's birthdays and this book hit 50% of the time. I'll put this book in the back closet to collect cobwebs, until I need it one cold winter day to burn.
COOL BOOK... LOTS OF FUN! Aug 18, 2009 first let me say- i am not a person who reads the daily, weekly, or monthly horoscopes and i have never been to any kind of fortune teller. my sister, who is a major realist, told me about this book after reading several of the birthday profile's from a friend's copy of the book. i knew if she thought it was interesting, i would not be disappointed. many of the birthday profiles are SO ON, it's scary. sometimes they don't seem to be EXACT but it is still always fun to look at and share with friends. i have enjoyed this book very much, and so have the people i have shared it with.
(just a side note... a friend read her profile several years ago and, although she enjoyed it, she did not stare at me in disbelief as i read (as some do) because of its accuracy. she felt the profile was accurate, she even owns the book, but nothing stood out to us as "crazy/scary accurate!" i recently read her profile to her again, and as a result of many things that had happened over the years since i had last read it, we both saw it had become crazy/scary accurate! i am not saying this book is "the word", i am just saying, in some cases, it is easier to see how some of the specifics apply (or don't apply) after a person is beyond a certain age... )
